Jame is benched
Virtus.pro CS2 team captain, Dzhami "Jame" Ali, is leaving the club’s active roster.
Nikolai Petrossian, CEO of Virtus.pro:
"Zheka is a legend of Virtus.pro and CS in general. He worked incredibly hard to achieve success in our highly competitive environment. But every resource eventually runs out, especially at such a frantic pace.
After we failed to achieve our goals at the Major in Shanghai, it became clear that roster changes were inevitable. The discussions were long, comprehensive, and very difficult. Ultimately, together with the players and coach, we concluded that at this stage, Jame would not be able to combine the two key roles in the roster, IGL and AWP, and that the best solution would be to bench him and calmly consider all available options for both the good of our team and Jame's personal prospects.
I want to assure our fans that in this situation, we are looking for the best solution for both the player and the club. The best decisions are often the hardest, but we will pursue them with openness and sincerity.
"Dzhami "Jame" Ali:
"I want to express my immense gratitude to everyone at Virtus.pro, where I spent so many unforgettable years! It has been the most successful period of my career, during which I learned a lot, met many interesting people, and won significant trophies.
I sincerely thank each team member, all players, managers, coaches, and fans for their support, motivation, and belief in me. We went through a lot, and each of you contributed to our achievements. Thank you for sharing your experience with me, helping me grow as a player and as a person.
I wish the Bears only victories, success, and further development!"
Jame joined Virtus.pro in December 2019 and since then has won many top tournaments, including IEM Rio Major 2022, Flashpoint Season 2, and cs_summit 7, earned two MVP titles, and was twice named one of the best players of the year by HLTV.
As one option for his career continuation, both the player and the club are open to transfer offers from other teams. Any further roster changes for CS2 will be announced separately. Stay tuned for our updates.
