Virtus.pro advances to the play-off of ELEAGUE Major 2017

Virtus.pro faced Gambit Gaming in the third round of ELEAGUE Major 2017 group stage. Defeating Gambit Gaming would've made VP advance to the playoff stage.

The match took place on Train. VP started on the CT side. The pistol round began with Jaroslaw "pashaBiceps" Jarzabkowski making a triple kill (1:0). One round later Gambit won the 1-vs-1 situation on the A plant (2:1), but VP decided to make an eco next round and took the initiative (3:1). Snax defended an open plant against Gambit's advance during round 8, making three kills with his AWP (6:2).

Gambit Gaming then won two rounds (6:4), worsening VP's economics, but byali saved the day by making three kills in the next rounds (7:4). Gambit Gaming then reduced the score gap to minimum (8:7) before the change of sides. One noteworthy moment is round 15, where TaZ won the 1-vs-1 situation but failed to defuse the bomb on time.

After switching to T side the Poles attacked the closed plant and won the round thanks to four kills made by Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas (9:7). VP then won four rounds in a row but Gambit Gaming took the initiative and made Virtus.pro lose three rounds (13:10). VP then switched the main attack direction and won three more rounds, becoming the winners of this match (16:10).

The victory made VP advance to the playoff stage. The team also earned the Legend status at the next Major. Virtus.pro's playoff stage opponent is currently unknown and will be revealed after the ELEAGUE Major 2017 group stage will come to an end.
