Virtus.pro defeats Ninjas in Pyjamas in IEM Sydney 2018's qualifier

The closed qualifier Intel Extreme Masters Season XIII – Sydney shall continue in a match against G2.

Nuke turned out to be the first map of the match. The first pistol round was claimed by Ninjas in Pyjamas. VP have recovered the economy, tying the score 4:4. The teams have shown an equal level of play, finishing the first half 8:7 in favor of the Polish Five. Virtus.pro have won the post side-swap pistol round and increased their lead with a series of successful anti-eco rounds. Since NiP were unable to reclaim the initiative, the Poles cemented the victory in the round number 28 – 16:12.

The battle continued on Inferno. Ninjas in Pyjamas have opened up their offense half with 4 rounds in a row. In the first half, VP were only able to claim 3 rounds. After the side-swap, Virtus.pro have outaimed their opponents in the pistol round, thus beginning the comeback attempt. However, it was halted once they reached 7 points – 13:7. The Swedes have won three rounds in a row, taking the match to Mirage – 16:7.

The deciding map was opened up with VP's pistol round victory. The first half of the game was a back-and-forth series of rounds, ending with a score of 7:8. After the side-swap, Virtus.pro have managed to turn the tables around by first tying the score 11:13, and then pushing for the victory before the opponents could take it to overtime – 16:14.
