Virtus.pro loses its Sydney slot to Astralis

IEM Sydney 2018 will be held without Virtus.pro.

The qualifier grand-final's first map was Mirage. Astralis have taken the pistol and two following rounds. The first gun round has ended in Virtus.pro's favor (1:3). The Dutch team have reclaimed the initiative, finishing the first half 4:11. After the side-swap, the Poles have also claimed only the first gun-round (5:14). While Astralis were one inch away from victory, VP have performed a heroic comeback. Alas, it was not enough to claim the victory – 13:16.

The match continued on Mirage. Virtus.pro have lost the first 4 rounds, which heavily impacted the Polish Five's economy. The first half of the map ended 5:10 in favor of the Dutch. The second pistol-round was also claimed by Astralis. Although, VP have recovered by winning the first buy-round. Shortly, however, the Danish line-up have broken Virtus.pro winning streak, cementing the victory with a score of 16:8.
