Virtus.pro will face Elements Pro Gaming in the first tour of Dota Pit S5

The first tour of the championship will commence on January 20 at 12:00 MSK.

The match is best-of-3. The winner will advance to the semifinal, while the loser will be dropped to losers' bracket. The semifinal and the first tour of losers' bracket are also planned to commence on the first day of the tournament. They will begin at 18:00 and 19:00 MSK respectively.

Vladimir «No[o]ne» Minenko told about the importance of the event and about the preparations:

Dota Pit will be a good tournament. Many strong teams will take part in this event. This might be the last chance to get the invite for many teams, including us. If there will be a small number of invites for the Major, only the first place would help secure the invite. Our goal, of course, is to either win the event or enter the top three. The preparations at the bootcamp were quite productive, but who knows how it would be. Something might not work out.

Virtus.pro G2A qualified for the final part of the tournament through the CIS qualifiers. Our team outperformed Vega Squadron, Natus Vincere and Team Empire on its way to the main event.

The base prize pool of Dota Pit League Season 5 amounts to $125 thousand. It can be increased by purchasing the theme treasures. As of January 18, 14:00 MSK the prize pool was increased to $136 thousand. The event will take place in Split, Croatia.
