Virtus.pro defeats TyLoo at CAC 2018

The first match of the group stage ended in favor of the Polish Five.

The encounter with Heroic commenced of Mirage. Virtus.pro started their defense by claiming 9 rounds, which granted them a slight lead after the side swap. Heroic closed the distance in the second half and even reclaimed the initiative (11:9), but the Poles managed to interrupt the opponent's win streak just in time by winning the match point with a score of 14:15.

Virtus.pro chose Cache as their pick; they beat TyLoo there in the previous match. Starting on offense, the Polish Five demonstrated an impressive game by only letting 2 rounds slip to Heroic's hands in the first half (13:2). After starting on defense, Virtus.pro yet again stopped the opponent's comeback and guaranteed themselves a spot in the semi-final (16:10).

The match was played in a best-of-3 format. On Virtus.pro's pick (Train) the Chinese team started on defense, where they couldn't properly fight against Polish aggression. The first half of the map ended with a score of 10:5 in favor of VP, and after the side swap, TyLoo only managed to grab 5 rounds.

Their own pick (Mirage) was much more convincing for the Chinese side. Starting on offense, TyLoo claimed 9 rounds before the side swap, guaranteeing their victory on CT with a score of 16:8.

The winner was decided on Cache. Virtus.pro only managed to grab 5 rounds on defense in the first half but managed to drag the game into overtime in offense. In the overtime, the Poles demonstrated a convincing game on both sides, winning 4 rounds – 19:16.
