Roman Dvoryankin: "It’s an important signal for the industry"
Virtus.pro general manager Roman Dvoryankin has commented on WESA's updated regulations. The eSports regulating body now prohibits a person or entity from holding stakes in multiple teams participating in tournaments.
Being a founding member of WESA Virtus.pro has always been consistent and supportive on making eSports landscape more transparent and stable. During the latest WESA Members meeting in Katowice I have voted to support the multi-team ownership regulations as we strongly believe that it’s an important signal for the industry that will make WESA and its members stronger in the long run.
WESA is an eSports regulating body founded in 2016. It includes Virtus.pro G2A, fnatic, Natus Vincere, Team EnVyUs, mousesports and Ninjas in Pyjamas as founding clubs, as well as the ESL. The stated mission of the organization is to further professionalize the industry. The first tournament held under WESA rules was the ESL Pro League Season 4. WESA consults on a regular basis with the Player Council chaired by Viktor “vuggo” Jendeby, upon whose recommendation ESL increased the number of participants in the LAN finals of its Pro League Season 4, and made changes to prize money distribution in Season 5.
